Are you a fan of live music? Would you like to be able to attend concerts featuring nationally and internationally touring musicians on the Northshore? How about if those concerts were fully seated among plush surroundings, with drink and food options, every seat with a great view of the stage, nobody making noise during the show, and every concert ending with a group photo of the audience and performers? Well, guess what? There is a concert venue in Slidell, Louisiana, that provides all of that and more: The Lobby Lounge.
A listening room concert venue located inside The Harbor Center, the Lobby Lounge started its full first season in 2019 after a debut performance in November 2018. After one full season, and on-and-off Covid interruptions, it got going again in 2022, 2023, and are now more than halfway through their 2024 concert season, featuring monthly listening room concerts with professional touring musicians from across the world.
Paul Childers
Best described as, “warm, intimate and Bohemian,” The Lobby Lounge has been repeatedly voted Best Venue for Live Music in East St. Tammany by Edge of the Lake Magazine. Just about every type of music has been featured – jazz, folk, Americana, pop, rock, Cajun/zydeco, soul, and more. All musicians appearing at The Lobby Lounge are professional touring singer/songwriters or bands that have written and released their own music.

To prepare for the concerts, staff members of The Harbor Center lay rugs on the tile floor, hang tapestries around the walls and stage, dim all the lights, and then decorate the entire area with a mix of eclectic and whimsical items to add to the overall ambiance of the venue, including their signature mascot: llamas! Every table features a centerpiece plush llama and many more of the lovely animals are scattered around the stage and throughout the room. (And the answer is no—you may not take a Lobby Lounge llama home!)

As it is housed in Slidell’s premier convention center, The Lobby Lounge is accessible to all, with all-ground floor seating, ample onsite lighted parking for any vehicle (buses welcome), and front-door access for van drop-offs.
The Lobby Lounge primarily promotes their venue, artists and shows on their Facebook page – https://www.facebook.com/LobbyLoungeSlidell.
